How do you make Breastmilk Jewelry?
Once your breastmilk arrives, I carefully store it in the freezer until I’m ready to begin the preservation process. When it’s time, I gently warm the milk and blend it with a specialized preservation powder that helps protect its colour and integrity.
The preserved milk is then left to dry for several days. After it’s fully dried, I combine it with a high-quality resin to create your keepsake. Depending on the design, the resin mixture is either poured directly into a ring setting or formed into a centre stone using a custom silicone mould.
Do you use Citric Acid in your preservation method?
No, I do not use citric acid in my preservation process. In fact, citric acid can actually cause the milk to yellow over time. Instead, I use a custom preservation blend that helps maintain the natural appearance of your milk and keeps your stone looking beautiful for years to come with proper care.
What's your background? How did you get into this?
I’m a school administrator with a background in teaching, especially in the arts—which has always been a deep passion of mine. When my second child was born in 2021, I started creating breastmilk jewelry after longing for a keepsake with my first but never being in the position to afford one at the time. That experience stayed with me, and when the opportunity came, I took the leap into creating meaningful, tangible pieces for myself—and eventually for others.

What is your turnaround time?
Once your breastmilk arrives, the turnaround time is approximately6 to 12 weeks. Each piece is handcrafted with care, and this window allows for proper preservation, curing, and quality assurance before your keepsake is ready to ship.

Do you offer Local pick up?
Yes! Local pickup is available in Cooks Creek, Manitoba with sufficient notice. Please note that orders are not available for pickup without prior confirmation—if you show up unannounced, your order may not be ready.

Inclusion questions
Whose breastmilk (or other inclusions) do you use?
Every piece I create is custom-made using your own inclusions—whether that’s breastmilk, wedding flowers, ashes, horsehair, or anything else you've sent in. I do not mix samples, and I never use anyone else’s materials unless we’ve personally discussed and agreed on something different (for example, shared ashes or a gifted inclusion).
Your keepsake is made with the intention and care it deserves, using the exact materials you’ve entrusted me with.
How do I know you're using my milk?
This is such a great (and common) question—and the honest answer is: it all comes down to trust. There’s no visible way to identify one person’s milk from another once preserved, and this is true for all breastmilk jewelry artists.
That said, I’m a mama too, and I’ve been through my own breastfeeding struggles. I understand how deeply personal and meaningful these keepsakes are. I treat every sample with care and intention, just as I would want mine treated.

How much of your inclusions do I need?

🍼 Breastmilk
If you’re mailing your milk, 15 ml (or ½ oz) is more than enough. I typically only need about 10 ml, but I can work with less—especially for low producers. If you're unsure, just reach out and let me know what you have available.
⚱️ Ashes
Please send about 1 tablespoon. Any unused ashes will be respectfully returned with your finished piece.
🌸 Flowers or Petals
A few petals from each flower you’d like included is perfect. Feel free to send extra—I'll work with what I need and return the rest with your order.
🏖️ Sand or Soil
1 tablespoon is plenty, and any unused amount will be mailed back to you.
🐴 Horsehair
Please send a piece at least the length of your hand and with a bit of thickness (roughly the size of a pencil bundle). Feel free to send a longer piece—I'll use what’s needed and return the rest with your keepsake.

Do I have to ship my milk frozen or on ice?
Nope, no need to pack it like a popsicle! As long as you follow the inclusion instructions, you’re all set. The milk doesn’t have to be fresh or drinkable—once it arrives, I heat it up and add my special preservation blend, which basically zaps any bacteria and gets it ready for its forever home in your keepsake.

How do I take care of my Breastmilk Jewelry?
Think of your keepsake like a little treasure—it's tough, but not invincible.
✨ Heat & Sun? Hard Pass.
Please don’t leave your jewelry to sunbathe. Prolonged sunlight and temperature swings (think tanning beds, saunas, hot cars) aren’t its friends. Always remove your piece before hopping into a tanning booth or steamy shower.
💧 Water Isn't Welcome.
While your jewelry may look radiant, it’s not waterproof. Avoid wearing it in the bath, shower, while washing hands, swimming, or during sanitizer overload. Water and chemicals (even the ones in tap water) can leave a residue and dull that lovely sheen over time.
🔪 Sharp Stuff? Nope.
Your stone is solid and built to last, but it’s not scratch-proof. Keep it away from sharp edges and avoid stacking it with other jewelry that might rub or scratch.
🧴 Chemicals & Creams—Keep Your Distance.
Perfume, sanitizer, cleaning products, alcohol, even your favorite lotion—they can all mess with the finish. A little love is okay, but too much exposure to oils and chemicals will take away its shine.
🧼 Cleaning? Keep it Simple.
Cool water, mild soap, and a soft cloth will do the trick. Skip the jewelry cleaners and anything harsh—you don’t need anything fancy to keep your piece looking beautiful.
👜 Storage Tips:
Every order comes with a soft bag—use it! Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and humidity. A drawer works better than a windowsill or a steamy bathroom counter.
Help - I don't know my ring size!
No fear! The easiest and most accurate option is to pop into a jewelry store and get sized. But if you're in Canada and life is a little too hectic (we get it), I’ve got you covered!
You can order a ring sizer under the MISC category on my site. It comes with a pre-paid return mailer (Canada only), so once you’ve figured out your size, just pop it back in the mail. As a thank-you for returning it, I’ll include a free pair of earrings or a necklace with your order!
In a rush? You can also grab an inexpensive sliding ring sizer on Amazon if you're on a time crunch and need to find your size fast.
Can I return, or cancel my order?
Due to the personal nature of each piece, we do not accept returns or order cancellations.
However, if you should receive an item that is defective, damaged or not what you ordered, we will help you resolve any issues as quickly as possible by replacing the item, once the faulty item has been returned to us by post.
What happens if I don’t send milk in?
Because of how platforms like Shopify, PayPal, and credit card companies operate, I’m required to send out a product within a reasonable timeframe—typically within 60 days of your order.
If I haven’t received your inclusions (breastmilk, ashes, flowers, etc.) within two months, your order will be completed using imitation milk or a placeholder material. This policy is in place to ensure timely fulfillment and to help prevent fraud, which I’ve unfortunately experienced before.
That said, I’ll always reach out to you first before creating your order with imitation materials. If nothing has arrived and I haven’t heard from you, you’ll receive an email reminder before your piece is made and shipped.
If you know you’ll need extra time, no problem—just reach out before the two-month mark and we can make arrangements. I want your keepsake to be as personal and meaningful as possible.
